Verbs with Prepositions

Several German verbs require a specific preposition to complete their meaning, similar to English "wait for" or "depend on."

You must learn each verb together with its preposition and the case it requires. The preposition determines the case of the following noun or pronoun.

When verbs use two-way prepositions, the movement/location rule to decide whether accusative or dative no longer applies!

You must memorize which case each verb-preposition combination requires.
